Ls Tranny on B16....Good For Turbo?
i have a 95 si with a jdm b16 sir2 swap with an LS tranny. (i bought the car like this) i plan on using a custom turbo kit this summer. Is the LS tranny good for the turbo B16 Motor? i know the b16 tranny has quick gears which are good for na not turbo. i have some grinding at high rpm shifts, should i just mod the ls tranny and keep it because i don't have the money for a tranny swap right now.

i would get a b16 tranny. that gear and turbo **** is just a myth cuz u will drop out of boost with long geard trannies.

Your car must be really slow now with that ls tranny. Depending on your setup and whether this is a daily driver or not, I'd get a B16/GSR tranny. If you have the money then ITR. Just stay away from that ls tranny.

Long gears are only good for fuel economy... not racing. I can't imagine that you'd be making enough power to use an LS tranny properly anyhow unless you plan on making like 400 whp.

LS tranny = teh suck
I had one on my B16 for like 8 months. I thought my car was fast with it until I made the switch to a B16 tranny.
I've seen the light.

He was. And yes... shorter gears equals better assuming full traction.

GSR tranny. final drive is in the middle between the ls and the b16. the only thing associated with an ls that would be good for turbo is lower compression. but since we're not talking bout motors...bag the ls tranny and get a gsr tranny

Re: Ls Tranny on B16....Good For Turbo? (94ls)
lose the ls tranny like everyone is saying..
GSR or B16 would be way better.
I dont see the need for longer gears unless (as posted earlier) you were making major hp
