Make sure you get a gun that comes with a gauge...that is important. I'm using a vapor HVLP gun with a gauge and water catch..it's been working great for me.

Devilbiss GTi If you don't wanna spend that much, look into the Devilbiss finishline guns, you can get 2 guns in a set for like $139-$159. For clear coat I use SATA jet 3000 RP with digital regulator.

Well, it's what I use for clear...lol.

Depends on what type of job its being used for. It would be ideal for small partial panel spot repairs, to blend out the clear.
The sata NR 95 would be a less expensive, good base gun.

yea i hear the devilbliss finishline guns are good and one comes with interchangeable tips to spray base with a 1.3 and clear with a 1.4, and a 1.8 for primer. and a regulator too. and iwas told i can use it with an 8.2 cfm at 120psi compressor as long as i only do a panel at a time

Iwata LPH-400 is an AWESOME clear gun. You can use it for base too!
I use a Astro EVO4014 as my base gun and finish with the Iwata. I've gotten the feel of the Astro that's why I've never gave it up.
It's a cheapie gun though.

I use my new Sata 3000RP. Very impressed with it
And for small projects, the Sata Minijet is the $hit

the 3000 rp is awesome. I have a 1.4 tip and use it for clear only. I use a devilbiss JGA for base, singlestage and sealer.
If you are looking for a base only gun, get something with a 1.3 tip. If you want to use it for more than just base get a 1.4 tip.

Don't know, just choose too Its not very hard to clean a cup unless you have really fat hands

The Iwata LPH400 HVLP is used as a base gun and a clear gun!!! It's overall a great gun, Not to mention it's light ,and doesn't cause as much orange peel as any other HVLP.When spraying it with clear . I sprayed with a sata 3000 HVLP.Don't get me wrong though, I'am not bashing Sata's *****.But Iwata has stepped there game up.All High end european car bodyshops ,are spraying with Iwata's LPH400 HVLP guns. Also cheaper than a SATA

I am nowhere close to a pro but the harbor freight gun has impressed me with various projects I have seen, most pros tell me that if it wasnt for peace of mind that they would use them on all customer cars.
