sand before 2nd coat of CLEAR?
I painted a lip - looks great except for one side, it looks as though I didn't put enough clear coat on it. Can I just respray the whole thing or do I need to sand it first.
BTW, its duplicolor crystal clear enamel, and it has been drying for the past 6 days, I just put it on and noticed this side.

you should sand it doesn and only put paint on that area that you missed
and then clear the whole thing so the clear is smooth and it doesnt fade out
good luck its not that hard

I just need to apply more clear - the paint is fine, its just that the clear is a bit light on one side
edit: should I sand the whole thing anyway or can I just respray a coat of clear without sanding.

dont worry about it to much i bet no one will ever notice anyways but if you sand you should shot a little paint on there just to make sure the clear sticks
but it all depends on the paint
but your probly using spray paint so it doesnt really matter but you wont notice it much after you put it on the car you will be to busy looking at how nice it made your car look

so its bad to just respray a coat of clear without sanding?
I'd really hate to have to do it again, it took two whole cans of clear to make it look good - but I guess if thats what I need to do......

just put lite coats everywhere except maybe put more coats in tha area you missed
you dont need to sand much just enough to take the gloss off so that it will stick
just dont try fading the clear because it will start coming off in the area where you blended it
