man I have this annoying chip on my windshield, is anyway to get rid of it besides getting a new windshield?

If it's just a chip or a star, then it can be repaired. But if it has started to crack, even a little, it may not be repairable.

Check your local yellow pages or do a local search for 'Windshield Chip or Windshield Repair".

I'd avoid doing this yourself since you don't even know if it can be fixed. Take it to a pro. Have it done right (if it can be done at all) and avoid expensive consequences.
