ref??
I visited the ref station several time and this was before 2009. To make a engine swap legal, engine has to be newer or the same year as the vehicle you own. Don't know if the REF station really changed the law since 2009 but you should be able to pass JDM B16/B18 if you convert it to USDM spec.....
twice
Those extensions can only be granted byt he judge. If you feel you can't pass pay the fine/bail amount
I just passed.
Court fine is $400 if you opt. to just say screw the ref.
But thats $400 wasted IMHO. You can use the $400 to just swap the JDM bottom end with a US one used the piston and get the high compression that makes the JDM motors have that "extra" punch and by on your way.

Since i didnt want to make a new post about going to state ref.
but i got pulled over in Oakland last night by CHP....go the usual pop the hood and blah blah. He gave me a ticket for Modified Exhaust VC 27150, its checked correctable. He said i would have to put the stock one back on & go to state referee. He also put a sticker on the back of the ticket that says State Referee Cerification Required - No Officer Sign-off.
The thing is I was wondering since the ticket is only for modified exhaust do they also check my engine and stuff if i go in? My DA has a JDM B16A in it, would that matter? I'm already switching out my exhaust for a stock one along with my header.
Would it be a bad idea to try to go there with my RS-R full catback still on? Because dont they only check it for if it passes the 95dB rating?
Thanks

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Mike, the SWC Referee gave me a call 5 minutes ago. There's been a change to the rules reguarding JDM engines. They are now reconsidering JDM engine swaps case by case.
