New HID setup
I installed my HID kit on my car and it had the direct plugin setup with no relay but i decided to go the correct way and run a relay and power from the battery. i have sever years as a stereo and car alarm installer so i know the wiring is done correctly. my only problem is that sometimes only one light will fire. if i turn the lights off and on again most of the time the second will fire and stay lit. has anyone else encountered this problem. i have heard even with pricey kits this can happen from time to time. if anyone watched that show bull-run that had happened to one of the guys and he had gotten pulled over for it.

Re: New HID setup (Padawan)
Take the bulb that is having troubles and put it on the other side (drivers to passenager side and vise-versa) and see if the problem follows the bulb. If it doesn't then it is the ballast.

Re: New HID setup (operatic)
it happens in the left bulb damn near every time. and the bulb will flash but will not stay lit. im gunna go with the bulb being bad as it came with the kit and the whole thing shipped was only $80.

Re: New HID setup (Padawan)
I know I know you get what you pay for. just wanted to know if anyone else had this happen. i honestly think the transformer boxes are good and leaning more toward cheap bulbs.
UPDATE - since i know you were all waiting by your computers anxiously waiting to see what was the case with my HIDs. It turns out it was the bulb. I switched the bulb and wouldn't ya know now its the other side that does not want to fire. A quick phone call should get my a new one at no cost. We will see. When I Looked at the "bad" bulb i could see that the wires that went into the gas part of the bulb looked a little short in comparison to the "good" bulb which overall looked in better shape than the "bad" one. maybe just cheap bulbs with a semi-good kit perhaps. better than bad transformers.
