2005 Imported Ediz 1.7 petrol. low mileage. when starting hot or cold the battery light stays on until engine management light comes on and then rev counter, temp gauge all drop to zero. Several other fails occure but all together nothing major. However, soon as the engine managemet light comes on, it goes into limp mode and throttles out to die around 4000 rpm but picks up to a splutter when thottle eased back. very strong smell of carbon and heavy on fuel. had timing belt changed before problem occured. European diognostics wont read ecu. Electrical or EGR Valve. Any help out there???
