Default what to do with 3,500

i have 3,500 dollars for my swap......i was dead set on getting an H22....but now i'm not so sure, becuase i love to auto-x...............so i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go with a b-series...............i know the B16 has no torque, but the price differene between the B16a and the B18c is pretty substantial.......my question is would it be worth the displacement difference to go with the b16+mods over the B18c?

I am right now stuck between the two, but not because of engine choice, but because of money issues. I would defintely go B18C if I had the cash.

B16, then the rest for suspension upgrade... Then mod it, CTR cams, ITR I/M, ITR T/B. Great numbers, good engine for autocross, it's exactly what I'm doing.

JE pistons, nice set of rods ,greddy turbo kit with intercooler ,on that D16z6 with hondata and some 440cc's get you 250whp

i think you can do that for $3500

Didnt think you could get that much power from a cx.But I know you can't get turbo, intercooler, and a hondata for 3500 along with pistons and rods. Why you holdin out dawg pass around the connection.

you can kind a used greddy kit with intercooler for around $1500-2000
$500 for hondata 250 for the 440cc's and you can make up to 200whp with a stock engine every thing for around $2250-2750 and then add about $300 for tuning still will be faster then any motor swap will run easy mid 13's if not faster

turbopanda off this board got a piston and rod combos for $400 with rings good for around 250whp so if you add $400

$2950-3450 if you do the labor your self

a gsr swap about $3300 with out shipping and then you still need to buy boltons I/H/E and then pay some one to do the swap if you dont do it your self to get 140whp you going to spend up near $4000 with out labor and labor 500-800 for swaps

Are you talking about chipping your ecu by Hondata because it cost more than that for the EMS,and buying a used turbo can be riskier than buying a used motor I've seen many schmucks trying to pass off blown up turbos.Plus he is talking about the cx motor I have never seen a turbo for it and seriously doubt you could get to +130hp out of that little thing without more than rods and pistons. There's no way that tranny could put that kind of power to the ground. So there's another 500 right there,if you could find a new performance clutch for it.

my tranny has a hole in it.....i'm not even gonna mess with boost or SOHC....i'm sure they can be fast....but i'm too lazy to make it fast.....i know a fast SOHC would be different....but i don't care....

ls/vtec can be solid but it has to be built right by someone with experiance in doing it.
