Default vtec manual switch??

is it possible to hook up a manual switch for your vtec to work? if so what do i need to do for this to work. i know i seen this before on this website.. would i need a vtec ecu for this to work?? thanks alot for your help!

switch would be a waste of time. Why would you want a switch? Wire the car the right way!

Yes it would be possible to manually engage vtec without a vtec ecu... An msd rpm activated switch wired to the vtec solenoid would work, but a vtec ecu also changes timing and fuel when vtec is engaged, which a non-vtec ecu can't do... I would just buy the right ecu that you need instead of trying to work around it...

yea we just want to see if its gonna work and this will be like a back up plan. we dont plan on keeping this on for a long time because. yes ecu increases fuel and what not we dont wanna blow the motor by hooking up a dumb switch. this is just to test it
