Default Swap done, starts and drives but bogs out at 3k rpms

ive got a 95 b18c1 in a 97 hatch. finally got it going and got a check engine light. the problem is i cant get the codes. the scan tool doesnt read cause i converted to obd1 and whehn i try to jump the codes the light doesnt blink

engine starts and idles fine, all the gears work and it accelerates fine. when i drive it it bogs out a little after 3,000 rpms. its like it hits a rev limit. at 1st i thought it was something to do with the vtec not kicking in. i havent changed the solenoid yet but ive checked all the wires and everything seems fine.

is this what usually happens just from vtec not kicking in? or is something else causing the check engine light and causing the car to stay in "safe mode"? i know its a broad question but is there any specific code that would cause this to happen? or is it just cause somethings wrong with the vtec?

thanks man that eliminates one headache.

i also have a skun2 intake mani not sure if that might be throwing a code. i might have to just spend the money and take it to a shop cause im not sure anyone can know exactly what codes or a specific problem that would make it do this

Its not bogging, its hitting the limiter because its in limp home mode. Solid CEL + no blinking when bridged = bad ECU/chip.

Well, clearly its not correct. Also, you can't disable the secondary O2 with OBD1 since OBD1 doesn't support/look for a secondary O2. The knock sensor wouldn't work with a P06 either since it doesn't have a knock board. Sounds like a problem with the conversion or the chip itself like I said earlier.
