questions about H22a in a ek coupe
Okay, Im thinking of going all out and just doing this, but I have a few questions that remain unanswered after a couple of searches.
1) I dont need a/c but definitely want to keep p/s, will my civic p/s just bolt on?
2) will I be using the alternator from the h22 or the civic?
3) how much beefier (weight-wise) is the h22 from the b18 really? some say alot, some say not much, Im guessing 50-100 pds?
4) If I get the custom mount kit, will I need any more mounts? The kit comes w/ 4 mounts, I thought there were total of 5 places the engine/tranny was attached to the frame?
5) Still unclear about the axles, are there places that just sell ek-h22 custom axles, or will I have to mix and match.
6) any other difficulties that I havent touched on?
I know thats alot of questions, any help is appreciated.

1. from what i know you can not close the hood if you want P/S
2. you will use the civic alternator.
3. bout 80-90 lbs
4. no more all needed should be included
5. depends on mount kit, try http://www.driveshaftshop.com or raxles.com
6. LOTS!!!

the hood will close with the p/s OR the a/c compressor. you have to pick which one you want. if it were me, i'd get a/c...p/s sucks a nut anyway...haha. i've seena civic with the p/s mounted and his hood closes fine. he was using the HCP mount kit. I've also heard rumors of an h22 EG hatch with p/s and a/c...custom mounting of the a/c system of course.

The ATTS from the Type SH will require major wiring modifications, and add more weight. H22 type transmissions use cables instead of linkage, so you use the shifter mechanism and linkage that came with the motor and trans, then you have to cut and drill a little to bring the shifter up in the interior.
You use the 1990-up Accord intermediate shaft with 90-93 Integra axles.
Upper radiator hose: 1990 Integra LS, trim a little.
Lower radiator hose: 1994 del Sol VTEC
Throttle cable: 1998 Prelude
Clutch hydraulics: stock.
You will need a tin fan or pusher fan will have to be used with the radiator, which should be upgraded too.

1) A/C works, not power steering though
2)Alternator from an H22
3)Not sure
4) You only need the 4 mounts
5) You can use the 92-96 prelude intermediate shaft as well as prelude inner shaft, customized w/ Integra or Civic Si outer shafts
6) Any questions, just ask.
By the way, here's mine:

Re: questions about H22a in a ek coupe (showstopper)
thanx guys,
Rembrant, if I get the jdm type-s, thats the one w/ the red valve cover, w/o ATTS and has 220 hp and LSD right? mmmm. yummy
hey showstopper, that thing's beautiful, who said H series dont look like they belong in a civic engine bay!! probably the guy who got smoked..
Now, could you tell me why the p/s wont fit? is there any make-shift way to attach it? Im hearing different stories here. some say you pick a/c of p/s some say none, some say both. hmmmm....
oh and showstopper, how long have and your axles, did you use use the 92-96 prelude intermediate shaft as well as prelude inner shaft, customized w/ Integra or Civic Si outer shafts?? if so, do they work well? any problems?
and is that the type-r strut bar? I like it, looks alot more sturdy than mine.
well, Im well on my way in gathering enough info to do this swap, back to comparison shopping for the motor.
eagerly awaiting replies...

SilverCivic:
Actually I have an Integra....they both have the same chassis though....
Power steering most likely won't fit in an Integra or Civic, because the power steering pulley would hit the hood....If you do an H22 swap in an Accord you are able to keep power steering though....
As for the shafts, I did exactly as you mentioned....
And last, that is an OEM Type R strut bar.
