2000psi

Like the title says....I really want to do an H22 swap into my EK but I want it to be legal so I don't have to swap it out every two years. I will have the same year or newer engine and all smog equipment hooked up on a stock engine. Has anyone done this??? I know you can BAR any same year or newer B series but what about the H series?

Thanks. So is there any way i can buy a JDM H22 and drop it in??? Is there a way for them to be able to tell it's an older engine than my car?? it's a bitch to find a 99 H22 and very expensive. JDM H22's just say H22 right? there's no barcode or anything to tell the year??? Or could I just put on a 99+ head when it's time to smog? (my car's a 99 civic and I can't find a 99+ H22 anywhere).
basically i want to know how they identify the year of the engine at the BAR.

Motor MUST be same year or newer than the vehicle. Yes the year is engraved on the block and on the head of every honda motor. That is one of the 1st things the Ref looks at when BAR'ing the car.

You may have a JDM motor, as long as you have all the US Smog Equip that belongs with the USDM motor. Only can us a JDM motor if there is a USDM counterpart. (can't use a B16B because there are no Civic Type R's in US)

Also, just to add, if you run a JDM H22A motor, besides running the US equivelant smog equipment, you also need to run a verified (from Honda with a certificate) US Prelude computer as well. Jeff652 had to do that with his JDM H22 into his EG coupe for his trip to the smog ref.
