Every H22 swap ive seen.....runs like sh*t
I used to think H22 swaps were the way to go....after seeing dozens of them perform on the track, i was very disappointed and now have lost respect for h22 motors in EG, EK hatch backs.

Eh...it's mainly the drivers probably. The h22 is a torque monster and hard to drive, you gotta teach yourself.

I was initially goin to go H22 but after seeing the track times i.e. 14.5 with 75 shots, 15.0 all motor, barely 13.99 turbocharged....i went with GSR and my trak time is 13.8 all motor!!! True that it does depend on drivers

To me putting a h22 in a civic is like putting any other large 4 banger in it. The h22 in no way was ment to be in that chassi. Anyone see the thread with the guys whos frame is crackin? scary ****...

very....true! dont take me wrong guys, im not hatin on h22 swaps, I myself was a prelude fanatic back then. I was hittin 14.5 in a prelude all motor consistently. Just a lil disappointed at the almighty h22 in a hatch.

yea, you'd expect a lot from a H22 in a hatch. i've seen people get into 13's in a b18c1 w/ bolt ons. i expected a H22 to be a little faster, but i've only seen 14's w/ bolt ons.

You are hating on H22's just look at the Title of this thread<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jL iLLuZiOnz 9 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yea, you'd expect a lot from a H22 in a hatch. i've seen people get into 13's in a b18c1 w/ bolt ons. i expected a H22 to be a little faster, but i've only seen 14's w/ bolt ons.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The people you are seeing can't drive very well. Think of it this way, there's probably easily a 4 to 1 ratio of b18c1 swaps versus h22a swaps, that's four people learning how to drive their b18's for every one person learning the h22; there's a better chance those drivers are going to put down crazy numbers simply b/c the pure volume of them leads to those anomalies happenin . I've seen a h22/hatch with my own eyes get into the 13s with bolt ons.
How can you compare a motor that makes entirely less power all around (granted the h22 may outweigh the b18c by 40 pounds) and say that its better than the h22?
edited for a retardedly contradicting last sentence

Lol, dammit. well you can't count my times b/c I'm not in a hatch and I was having electrical problems at the time. I was at 2900 pounds and I ran a 15 flat.
But like I said, I've seen them run 13s on 195-55-15 Michelin crap tires in a 2300 pound hatch.

I know, I was just pre-empting that comment that people tend to make.

*Sigh* I think your missing the point of this post. It wasn't about gearing it was about h22 motors running like ****.
By the way, there is someone on here who crafted a prototype of an adapter for a b-series tranny to h22. I have to find it again, but sooner or later, that will be a non issue.

we got some kid here that has a h22 coupe, and it pretty quick when a good driver is behind the wheel but the kid couldnt outrun a stock cx civic. they must be hard to drive i assume (assuming cuz i never drove one yet)
