Default New Head, No Vtec ahhh!

I just took my head off and did a bunch of machine work to it. I put everything back on and everything is running good exept for vtec. I have a fields vtec controller and the "beep" goes off when its supposed to be in vtec. Maybe I have it wired wrong. I have A4 running to the vtec controller solenoid input, then a wire running from the controller to the actual solenoid. Then D6 is wired to the vtec controllers input for vtec oil pressure. On the actual oil pressure sensor i have one running to ground and the other i have taped off. Tommorrow i will try switching solenoids. How should I go about troubleshooting this problem? Is my current wiring wrong?
