My Car sticks in reverse Help!
99 civic, w/ usdm h22a4
Just today I took my car out and got on it really good. Before I headed out everything was ok. But now (after ragging on it a bit) it is really hard to get into reverse and if I jam it in it sticks to where I have to pull hard on it to get it back out. I looked at the shift cables and the shifter, and nothing seems upset. Do you think it might be the tranny is fooked? The weird thing is that is goes into all the other gears fine.....its really weird...
Thanks, Mark

I think your reverse is a lil screwed.
Try putting it into second, or first then put it into reverse and double clutch a little to try and see how to get it into reverse cleanly.

Re: My Car sticks in reverse Help! (poison)
I did....it still does the same thing.....the thing is that when I was gettin on it I missed 3rd really hard....and had to let the engine rev down before it would let me put it back into gear....I would think that it would have affected it...but it doesnt make any funny noises...and all the other gears work fine....and I have had honda tranny's open/apart befor and I know that the reverse gear is all by itself in the tranny so that make me seriosly wonder what is wrong. Since the reverse gear isnt used/spinning when the car is going forward

hmm, what mounts are you using? and did you take off the tranny mount in the engine bay or cut enough of it off? Prelude's cable shifter is a bitch to get into reverse with that tranny mount there unless you shave most of it off.

When it doesnt want to go into reverse just put it into first and move forward a tiny bit.. then it should go right into reverse.. i have to do this every now and then. Hop this helps!
