Default ls vtec w/ b16 head and gsr obd 2 ecu.

just had a question for all you gurus. were doing a ls vtec using a gsr obd 2 ecu and b16 head and b18b bottom and its going into a 96 integra ls. the question were wondering is. we are not using the secondaries sensor or box. that usually hangs under the gsr manifold. someone told us that we don't have to use this or even wire it and we should not throw a code and have no problems either. is that true thanks guys.

it wont throw any codes, but will run like ***. even with the secondaries open all the time it sucks even more.

just wire up the iab's, or get a skunk 2 manifold

You are correct, the IAB does not throw a CEL so there's no need to worry about that. The only thing is the VTEC crossover is lower for a GSR as well as the fuel and timing maps are different from a B16 so it's not going to run as optimal as it would if you were to use a P28/P30 ECU. If you are concerned about staying with OBD2, I would look for an OBD2 P30 ECU or even better a JDM OBD2 P73 ITR ECU.
