Is the factory LS oil pump good enough to run a TURBO LS/VTEC set up for a few months. I'm sure this has been answered before but there are way too many search results on LS/Vtec to read all of them. I am going to build the motor and use a GSR pump then, but in the mean time any info will help. Thanks!!

 

Alrighty i'm 100% sure i read this somewhere, but i think the gsr and ls pump are the same pieces except the spring that controls the oil pressure. I heard of some people shimming the spring to increase the oil pressure output.

 

im running the gsr for all motor, just take the time/money now and throw it in there to be safe.

 

If this is your first ls/vtec I'd suggest you read all of those threads. If you were going all motor ls/vtec you'd be ok with the ls oil pump, definatly upgrade if your doing turbo ls/vtec. all newer model b's have the same gear diameter but the spring pressure rate varies go with gsr/itr.
