knock sensor location? need help
im trying to see if my vtec is hooked up right? do i need IABs for the vtec to work in a h22a. i have a h22a in a 94 integra, where do i look for the knock sensor? what color is it. i have a p28 . is it already set for vtec? i dont see why it isnt. it has a launch and rev limiter
all u need for the vtec to work is vtec oil pressure sensor and vtec activator hooked up , as for knock sensor (back of block near head color is green ) above oil pressure sensor..
some computers do need the knock sensor for vtec to work. mostly because you'll be throwing code 23. I had the same problem and to replace it was over a 100 bucks at honda. Its kinda hard to see unless your under the car. Just reach your hand under your intake manifold and you should feel the sensor. I believe it will have one wire coming out.
P28 doesnt look for a KS, but the KS is located on the backside of yer engine right below the intake manifold. Here's an image of a B18C KS, which is in a similar location on your H22, and its normally a black color...
you dont need the IAB's hooked up in order for VTEC to work.

Any thoughts on running a p28 and still having a way to use the stock knock sensor with a remote setup to deal/monitor knock?

Meh... ballah. I've had a custom setup suggested and thinking of giving it a shot... I hope I can remember all my engineering stuff and pull it off.
