Default code 23 knock sensor

I broke the knock sensor when I pulled my head off 92 prelude si H23a. I needed the car running so I just taped it back on there and hoped it would work. Drove the car for a couple of days now the check engine light comes on code 23. This is a non vtec and I know that if you throw a knock sensor with a vtec vtec does not work. With the sensor broken is there any harm to drive the car alot until I get a new knock sensor Thanks for any help

Yes VTEC will work if you break the knock sensor on a VTEC.. I know this because I did at a racetrack.. Lost power because the ECU backed off the timming I believe..

I doubt it will hurt anything, from what I understand, your ecu just goes in SAFE mode, basically cuts back the ignition timming, and will have a loss of power.. Unfortunally, a new knock sensor is about 150$ i think....

Also another problem today this morning when I tried to start my car at first it acted like it wanted to crank then it just turned over and over. I Have a crane Hi 6 ingnition so i checked it and no power. Turned the car off then turned it back over still no start. I finally got it started and when I went to drive it started bogging down like the spark plugs are wet. Seems to drive fine but it did this periodically throughout the drive to work. Seems to do it more in lower rpm's when you puch down full throttle. Any suggestions
