Default knock sensor....

heres the situation

i have a 93vx and a 92 si. the si had been wired obd2 with a itr motor in it. the vx is obd1 with d16a. the only thing i like in the si is the itr motor so i swapped it into the vx(my baby). i wanted to keep it obd1, im planning on using a p28 with hondata s200. so now i was left with the si, still obd2 and a b series harness. got the car running today wired obd2 with itr ecu. only had to fix ect sensor, iacv sensor and iat sensor to stop the cel. went on test drive and threw a code 23. knock sensor... i feared this happening. does anyone know what i should do, the ecu is looking for a knock sensor and my d16a doesnt have a knock sensor. pls help

I'm kinda confused on exactly what you are asking.

So you have a itr motor in your vx hatch and you need to wire up a knock sensor right? Just run a wire from the D3 pinout on your p28 ecu and connect it straight to your knock sensor plug.

the itr motor in the vx is now fine. i wired it using the stock vx harness. my problem is with the si. the previous owner installed a obd2 harness. so i have a d16a installed with a obd2 harness and a p73 ecu. the car runs good but it throws a code for the knock sensor and the motor does not have a knock sensor. do you know what the knock sensor looks for. voltage or ground. its only a one wire sensor. maybe i can make it seem like there is one installed.

So you are saying that you don't have a knock sensor on the motor or that there is no place to screw on a knock sensor at all? The knock sensor acts as a ground until it senses knock. The knock sensor creates its own voltage when it senses the knock. If there is no knock there is no voltage going through it at all. Not too sure but maybe you can just plug knock sensor in and ground it somewhere on the motor. Just a guess. Hopefully someone else might post and help you out.

You can try but if it doesn't go away try plugging the knock sensor in and then grounding it. But do you have a hole under your intake manifold to screw the knock senor in on the d16 engine?

no there is no hole. thats why im trying to figure out what the ecu is looking for power or groung if that. just want to get rid of the car but i think i'd have a better chance with no cel on.
