K Series into an older body style...Emissions issues?
Good Morning Ladies and Gents,
I'm not new to Honda-Tech...Been around lurking and posting since the early 2000's...A few engine rebuilds and swaps under my belt. With that being said, I've google and honda-tech searched for a few minutes. Thought I could get a faster response while I still google and research. I see that Cali has their own B.A.R.(Cali Bureau Automotive Repair) guidelines...A bit more restrictive compared to other states.
Several Questions:
1. If I swap a K-Series or any other newer engine into an EM1, will I have problems with Atlanta, Georgia emissions testing?
2. What does their computer look for to pass? Smog, Check engine light, ECU VIN match to the car?
3. If they look for specifics and details, how do some of you get it to pass visual inspection and emissions?
Always wondered how those S2K guys pass emissions with an LS installed...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. No d1ckh3ad remarks please. Just need some help before making a decision to drop the ball on buying the K-series motor and doing the swap.
