use a motor same year as the chasis or newer
make sure that you run all the smog equipment that comes with that year or newer.
and you must take it to a ref station , to get it certified

honestly bro.. i have no idea.. i lived in cali back in the day but i was like 10 when we moved out here and i never even drove then.. i know you gotta get it passed somehow or its a ticket.. i do know nowadays its all in the people you know.. i try to meet and make friends from all areas and work places.. never know when there gonna need something you can give them if they can help you..

*and i dont think someone can just go out and tell you who they pay to pass the smog check on this board cause they could get shut down..

good luck

you need to go to a BAR center. make an appointment and a bar/smog ref will check your car for all the emission required stuff, then he will either smog it there or send you to get it to another place to get smogged. if you pass they will put a cute lil sticker on the side of your door letting smog centers know your legal to smog.

http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/stdhome.asp

Run a search there. It'll have everything you need.
Your car will pass smog as long as all the smog equipment is hooked up and a-ok.

Oh...and there's still the fact of emissions too..

well the reason i am asking is that my friend knows this guy who is willing to sell me a b18c5 for around $2500. he built it up has low miles and all the goodies. i figured that i would see what else i would have to do to get the swap done in a 92 civic hb. is it a good deal or what? will it be worth it?
