Alright I'm giving in, I spent hours last night trying to find a post to help me and couldn't.

Last weekend I did a mini me swap 97 civic, d16y7 block y8 head, y8 intake, y8 tb and p2p ecu. Wired v tec, wired iac, head was machined, replaced every gasket and torqued everything by the book. New ngk plugs and wires, new tps.

Car started and idled perfect but bogs down and dies when I hit the gas. it fouled out the plugs. I thought maybe I was a tooth off so I moved the cam one tooth toward the front of the car.

Now it starts but dies and won't idle. I'm assuming my check engine bulb is gone or bad because I don't have a light on. I haven't done the knock sensor yet but from what I can read that shouldn't keep it from running? It also has two 02 sensors, one in the header and one down stream.

If any one has ideas it is appreciated. I work an hour away and need this car back asap.

You need to pull your codes first off. What injectors did you use? Did you wire the IACV at the ECU as well? Did you calibrate the TPS?

Y7 injectors and rail, yes cut the Orange wire swapped the other one.
I can't drive the car so maybe I'll try to rent or buy a scanner today.

Re did the timing this morning it us idling but surging, I can deal with that later.

Did try to calibrate tps when I had tb off maybe I should try it again. I put a new coil and igniter in the distributor out of a used one yesterday too. No help.

Don't know-how to post a video but now that I re did the timing when I hold the throttle it surges or chugs constantly.

I've been working on it all day, advanced the timing retarded the timing. Will idle great but will surge and die when holding the accelerator. I'm thinking it's a timing issue but I can't get it for the life of me. Played with distributor, have the plug under the dash jumpered. Nothing helps

Only check engine light is for v tec.

First off you need the Y8 injectors the y7 are too low flow rate.

How did you calibrate the throttle body off the car?

Seems like there is a lot of wrong information out there about this swap. I read that the y7 injectors need to be used.

I ohmed it at closed and wot like I read in a forum. And yes that's what I did for the iac.

Going to try a few more things on it tonight.
