y8 mini me
okay so i just finished up the mini me swap in my girls car. its a 97 civic lx, prior owner installed a b1 after y7 failed. I bought and installed a y8 head on the d15b1 block, im using the y8 ecu, intake mani, head gasket, and cam gear. the car starts fine but idles around 100 rpm. if i tap the throttle a little it will die, if i press it harder it will rev, if i drive it for a short time it will idle fine? It also is redlining at 5800-6000 rpm? any info is great thanks.

Re: y8 mini me
Send your ecu to phearable.net and get it tuned. I had the same setup except with an adjustable cam gear, With you should also look into getting, Timing on those mini-me's is a bitch!

Re: y8 mini me
I figure that timing is the majority of the issue, i know that my plugs and intake lines are all connected properly. Ill check prices and **** from there site in a min. Is there any other main issues to look out for? Mini me info is lacking for the b1/y8 combo? Any more info is appreciated.

You might want to link to your thread over at D-Series.org so people can get the full history of what is going on here.

Still sounds like you have timing/compression issues. Are you still pulling CELs?
Maybe you should have followed this guide/parts list?

Re: y8 mini me
Im using a z6, if i remember correctly one has a 104 and the other 106. However the tension is fine and the belt fits great, Im also using the y8 cam. i will get pics of plug asap. The plug fits into the spot for the iacv.

it worked because the z6 belt is the same as the y8 (104). non vtec belts are 107/106 teeth, z1 is 103. assuming you timed it to spec, you are a half tooth off. read up on mini me swaps, you can correct it or easily fix it with an adj. cam gear.

Re: y8 mini me
Car is in time...... IACV plug needs cut and swapped as well as ecu repin. I swapped the evap selenoid and got no result....... still throws codes any info you guys can offer would be awesome. I have messed with timing for the past week, using the y8 and the b1 cam gears forward and backwards.

Re: y8 mini me
vtec pressure switch due to it not being wired. Evap selenoid, Iacv due to it not being swapped and the wires pulled on ecu. Also so Intake air temp is reading low and high. these were pulled with a obd-II scanner
