How can I tell if i really got a JDM engine or not
The man that I got the engine from told me it was a J-spec 95 del sol engine. Then the people who were putting it in said it wasn't a J-spec. Im lost on what engine I have and need to know so that I know what parts to buy for it. I did see B16a2 on it and I know thats a 2nd gen...but 2nd gen what???j-spec,SI,del sol??? Let me know how to check, thanks...Jay

There are a ton of posts about this, just do a search. To answer your question though, JDM engines wouldnt have a 2 after the B16a: its just plain B16a. Since its B16a2 then its definatly USDM. There are a ton of the distinguishing points as well, just do a search.

ok if it says b16a2 it would be a 99-00 si motor. ok? if it said b16a3 it would then be a us del sol motor. either way most likely if it has a number after the a its going to be a usdm speced motor.
