Default JDM b16a2

i know this sounds like any other thread, but i have a question about this. I am kinda on a budget so I cant really afford the b18c1.

My question is, can the JDM b16a2 be trusted? I'm scared that if i bought it, i would have problems. I plan on buying from hondamotorsonline.com

Also, has anyone ever botton a 99-00 or del sol VTEC engine from IAS? If so how much was it, because they are sorta slow on e-mail.

ok first lets get this straight. thers no such thing as a jdm b16a2. in the jdm, there are no identifying numbers. there ALL jdm b16a, just specify if you have a second or first gen. what do you mean be trusted? its a great motor i have one in mine and i love it except the fact there is no torque. if your just going to mildly mod the engine wait for a b18c, youll be happier. and steve @ hondamotorsonline rules. thats where i got my swap.

I beg to differ on the "no such thing as JDM b16a2"

Check this link....(dial up should not attempt)

I think they were only available in the 90-91 XSI

Got mine at Hondamotorsonline. The motor is pretty clean. Not installed yet.

90-91 xsi motors are stamped b16a. I believe you have a us spec motor there. I have never seen a jdm motor stamped like that only us motors end in a number. I may be wrong but I am going on what I have seen and heard here.

I was confused for a while. The head is stamped 1991. You can also see the serial starts with 1, which is 1 million series. All the US are 5 million series because their in civics.
Its a milky white plug 1st gen with cable (j1) tranny.

I hear you. When I picked it up at hondamotorsonline I swore it was b16a just like all the other 1st gens I've seen. Then as I get it in my garage I see b16a2 im like wtf? My friend has a 99 si with b16a2 but 5 million series. Thing is it was manufactured in 12 of 1991. So I'm wishing / dreaming that its 10:4 compression.
I did some research in the euro models, but I couldnt find anyone over there with an integra. I've heard of one other case, I think Trey?? (hangs out here and hybrid) had a b16a1 stamp. So their out there, just rare.
I'm hoping I'll be able to sneak by a referee someday, since im in cali.

I was at Honda motors online like about 3 weeks ago. I did see that motor and it was stamped B16a2. Did it come with a nice aftermarket header that has 2 o2 bungs? Steve said it was possibly from Malaysia? Why don't you post a pic of the block and prove everyone wrong!
