i swap my civic ex and my vtec was working fine 1st and 2nd day after that it doesnt work any more.its sputters once it engages vtec after 5000 rpm. check the oil,gota new silenoid,also check the wiring everything was fine.so we tried to check pressure in the head it goes to 60 psi and then ones it hits 4500 rpm it drops back down........ it seems like its not getting enough oil. i check the oil pick up and cleaned it. we check the compression its 200,190,190,200. so we know theres nothing wrong with the motor. PLEASE someone help me figure this out. i havent been driving since then. i also change the oil and put sythetic

Check connections to the ECU. Pull the plugs out and put em back in. A lot of cars seem to he having that problem around me.

Run a light from teh Vtec solenoid and drive teh car and hit vtec. See if it is actually giving the solenoid power.

What ECU u running? Have u tried a different ECU?
