Few Q's on B18B into EJ8 ('99 ex)
like topic states i just have a few questions about swapping in my 2000 B18B(S80 tranny w'lsd) into my 1999 EX civic.........
1. a/c bracket...i've been told the '97 del sol SI,B20,and even the stock y8 or civic SI will work.....................
2. im assuming that i will need to add or extend a few connectors on my existing wiring harness. ('99ex)
3.crank angle sensor on the LS is near the crank, and not so on the y8...where do i wire this into my harness to not throw a cel...
throttle cable bracket.....my IM didnt come with one on it and im told there are 2 i can use..which is mostly used....
4.is it neccessary and or recommended/required to run the dampening mounts (one on tranny side one on motor side)??
its been about a year since my last swap and yea... it shows.kinda rusty, thanks all in advance and yes..i searched a few things as well. H-Techers are the bomb-diggity

Re: Few Q's on B18B into EJ8 (BlendedEJ)
why would you not want to run your dampening mounts? They are there for a reason, without both or one you will have extra engine movement on shifts and starts that will cause excessive wear to other mounts and lots of spilled drinks in your lap.
I know the ac bracket from the 94+ dohc del sol will work but I've never heard of the b20 or y8 working and being able to retain your stock ac compressor. I'm using the b18b bracket and cable on my 93 del sol.

dampening mounts / Torque mounts
I was told if you don't run your dampending/torque mounts you run the risk of damaging your other mounts (upper tranny, driver side upper, rear rubber).
also upon recommendation from shop I'm trying polyurethane inserts on my torque mounts and rear mount($40 on e-bay).
Should hook up better but not sure about vibration seeping through chassis
