Default crvtec-problems

Im using the 97b20 bottom end with b18c head. I dropped the compression to 9:1 and installed the block gurdle, but anyways..My problem is oil leaking from in between the head and block, where you plug the oil passage. Has anyone experienced this problem before??Does anyone know a possible solution to this. If I have to rip the head back off again Id like to know what to look for..
Thanks in advance

A fact that I have never seen posted, and rarely tell anyone myself. Is that the stock gasket has copper rivets holding it together. The one near the oil hole on the head needs to be removed. It gets in between head and deck and doesnt seal all the way. Good luck.

does this only apply when using the b18c head. i looked at mine with 1g b16 head and the rivets do not appear to be in the way.

gsr's because they are a little bit longer

Im using the ARP head studs..The head gasket Im using is the CRV headgasket from a 97', I believe. Would that problem with the rivets apply to me??Will this headgasket work for my application?Any suggestions would be appriciated..These are some good ideas thus far. I need to get this oil leak fixed b4 I put my turbo kit back on!!Thanks guys for the help

If you are using A GSR head on the CRV block, the oil leak may be caused by too much pressure build up in the crank case. When you use the GSR head and CRV bottom you eliminate the PCV valve and there is no venting for that pressure to vent out through. I ran into the same problem. I even had the internal VTEC oil line welded and shaved at a machine shop. What I did was drill a hole for a grommet on the valve cover. Then with a grommet in there i placed a PCV valve in the grommet and ran it into my Skunk 2 manifold. It doesn't totaly solve the problem but helps little.

ya.. I did the same thing I tapped the valve cover and ran lines into a catch can with a breather..SO I think (hope) that is taking care of the head pressure...
