b20vtec w/o external vtec oil line question

im running a b20vtec with a crane roller cam setup. my question is do i still need the external vtec oil line if im no longer using vtec? or does the external oil line provide oil for something else also.

i believe that oil is mainly for vtec but i'm not 100 sure. i say hook it up anyway. it's not gonna hurt anything.
