Default No Vtec?

Ok I posted a question earlier, I have a b20b Gsr head setup. Anyhow I tapped the turbo oil line off of the oil line from the block to the head. Everything is working fine except there is no Vtec. I'm thinking since Vtec is activated by oil pressure, maybe I'm losing Vtec because there is not enough oil pressure. Being that I broke off of the main oil line from the head. What do you guys think? Thanks.

its possible.
i JUST got my vtec working from a lack of oil pressure situation.
my oilpan was dented bad enough where it was hitting the oil pickup.
get your hands on an oil pressure tester

Yeah that is exactly what I was thinking of doing. By the way, what would be the ideal psi?
