i'm putting a b18c1 in my 1997 civic hx and i'm wondering how to go about wireing it up. the motor's from a usdm 1994 teg gsr.

have you done you reaserch on your swap
i dont know if you should put an older motor in your car
it may not be legal in your state.. you should check into it

If you use your OBDI ecu then you'll need the OBDII to OBDI ecu converter harness since the plugs are different.

You should stay with an OBDII motor though.....

trey, can't he just wire up the motor and get a harness converter? then just plug in the new harness and the ecu? (i just FEEL that im wrong with that statement!)

I know in the State of California it is illegal to put a motor that is older than your chassis into your car. I don't know about Connecticut though.

Default Easier Way...in a way

Here is what I think would be far easier for you than all of that ECU harness adapter stuff. Why not just swap the distributor, engine wire harness, alternator, and a few other things with OBD2 equiptment. Then you dont have to wire anything too crazy since your chassis is OBD2 already. You will only have to wire Vtec and Knock Sensor. My TypeR swap was wired OBD1 for a while to avoid wiring headaches, but it was really easy to change everything to OBD2 on the motor. Just a thought.
