Default B16a or b16a2???

I know the b16a2 cost a little more than the b16a but in the long run which setup cost more in a 5G civic chasis?? If I use a b16a what are the extra stuff I have to buy??Because I was told that the b16a2 drops right in with very few things to buy xtra.

Thnx alot!!

for one....
the B16A2/3 (US B16's) bolt right into a 5g civic, no problemo.

If you wanna use an older JDM B16A-cable type (89-91), you should look into a Hasport bolt in kit. It will allow you to use a cable transmission in a 92+ civic or integra. The kit consists of custom transmission mounts & a conversion kit to allow the hydraulic clutch work a cable b-series transmission. Of course, you'd have ot use OEM mounts for the rest of the engine....

its up to you though.....
but IMO, I'd go the OEM way, and get a full blown B16A2/3 or JDM 92+ B16A swap w/everything (axles/mounts/ecu/etc)..

Yeah and also if you live in CALI. that would be a BIG no no. Cuz you could only use and engine of the same year car or newer. So i suggest to check out your local laws and to put were ever your from so that way we know, c'mon dont be afraid.

actually only a JDM 92+ B16A will be the most powerful out of any of the B16A engines. It's rated at 170hp while any of the US B16A2/3 and JDM 89-91 are rated at 160hp..

While Kat's right about the rated hp, the 1st-gens I've seen always dyno lower than any other B16A.

I'd say get the JDM EG SiR or SiRII B16A because you're GUARANTEED to get a pimp-*** tranny (if they don't swap it with another one...) The B16A2 out of the newer Si coupes is nice - my fiancee' has one in her 1992 hatch - but there is an on-going debate about the gearing ans Final Drive.

Her B16A2 seems very strong, and it baselined at 144whp and 100lb-ft. of torque.

My friend and co-worker has a real-deal SiRII B16A, and it fells pretty much the same as the B16A2, but like I said, the tranny on the JDM SiRII is bad-*** for SURE.
