b16a2 identification

what should the engine code read on a jdm b16a 2nd generation engine? should it have b16a2 or would it just be b16a? and how would you know which is which?

AFAIK JDM engines are simply marked B16A/B16B/etc., and they save the B16A2/B16A3/etc. nonsense for USDM engines.

But I haven't paid a lot of attention to the JDM fad, so I could very well be wrong.
