Default **B20B Questions**

I basically want a good motor, money doesnt matter at all because im doin this lil project in sections, saving up then buying. I have a whole shopping list from the block to the bolts. O ya and about how high would I be able to rev the motor? Ive heard that after around 5 or 6000 rpm its just slow. Basically I want a motor that will be able to be a lil quicker than an ls/vtec crx. My friends are already planning on getting b18(ls/vtec) and an integra gsr for the other friend. I want something different, so im going with crvtec turbo. They are all going to add turbo, I know the b20 has thin walls, which i plan on resleeving, but I just wanted to know how much the B20B weighs compared to the B18. That and why do people always choose the b18b and the b18c over the b20b? I know its because of the thin walls, but all you have to do is relseeve for like 1500 right? Anyway I want to get a crvtec into a 92-95 civic hatch with a t3/t4 turbo boosted up to around 28psi for a daily driver, I know its not safe to drive around with 28psi but I mean when im racing ill turn it up to 28. So uh all together will it be a pretty good street car, a crvtec with around 28psi? I know traction issues and what not, juss need peoples advice. Thanx if you took your time to read this, if anyone is interested in helping me out and checking out my shopping list lemme know.

Besides the larger bore and 1piece sleeve, its the same engine and about the same weight. If you build it, you could rev to 8k no prob. I know people who rev to over 8k with stock block. But if your going turbo, i dont see the need to rev the crap out of it and go over 8k. The reason most people choose the b18's over b20's is because you can use type r or any other b16 or b18 pistons since they all have the same bore.

Ya i konw that, I was just sayin there wouldnt be another reason to chose the B18 over the B20 since your adding forged pistons.

Wrong. you can go all the way up to 87mm but its only recomended for NA and 85mm for FI.

that would give the b20 an edge right? i still just dont see much b20 motors being used, its always the ls or the gsr, even ls/vtec over crvtec. i just dont get it, o well as long as i can get around 400-450whp outta a turbo crvtec ill be fine.

just be prepared to spend alot of money on your setup, you'r gonna spend atleast 10k for a motor with that much power that is gonna be reliable.

Ya i know this is gunna take me a while, i planon doing it in steps, so its actually gunna take more money, im first gunna drop it in with bolt-ons, then ill buy the parts i need for the whole entire turbo setup piece by piece and just have it sit in the boxes in my garage. Then when I have it all, ill remove the motor and build it up then drop it in. I estimated around 10-15 grand for all this, not including suspension and tires. O ya do you think I can run pump gas on this setup? 93 octane?
