99' B18B Leakdown test Fuckery!
So the B18B that I swapped into my 93 EJ has felt a little sluggish and consumes a quart of Mobil One 5w30 fully syn, every time I get gas, has provided an answer finally. Friday at work I did a leakdown and the results were terrible:
From the distributor side over it read as follows: 33-30-45-15 percent leakage in the corresponding cylinders.
I bought the swap from Randy at Import Auto Salvage and it looked immaculate, the shipping was excellent, most complete swap I have seen, better than H motors when I had my B16B in my last car. I called him last Monday and told him about the oil consumption and he is the one who advised me to do the leakdown, so I finally got to it Friday like I said earlier. The 90 day warranty will expire 1/28/05 and the swap was bought 10/28/04, so I got real close to being SOL! I will call Randy in the morning and see how well they stand behind their warranty.
Basically, I am not going to drive that tired *** motor. I am not in the financial situation to begin my turbo build either. I want to pull it out, get my new fidanza and ACT clutch and send her back to them.
Any input, suggestions, or experience in this type **** would be appreciated.
