Haha second thoughts cause it was your first car. Yeah I had them too when I sold mine. But once you own an S for like 3 mins, you won't miss much after that. No regrets buying an S.

safxtacy-You confuse me and so does your mom. She wants a better life for you, so shes going to put you into an S2000? That makes no sense. I also grew up without a dad, my mom wanted a good life for me, she put me in a safe, slow 92 Honda Accord. Your young and when you get behind the wheel and realize its yours, you may do some very stupid things. Give it time, do some growing up and save, save, save!

GRAF-FITI- You make 96k a year and your on a Honda forum? Have you looked into the 6speedonline life?

if you're referring to me, i thought what i originally posted was a little harsh

i fail to see how buying him an s2000 is giving him a better life than his mom though....a better life than she had would be having quality NECESSITIES...he already has a car, so having the s2000 is a luxury, not a necessity</TD></TR></TABLE>

wow... read through pretty much this whole thread, and i hate to say this but...

Graf is right (for once)

OP is wrong.

Listen OP, the S2000 should not be the next car for you. not yet anyway.

I also want to join to the fatherless sap story brigade that is going on in this thread, and aknowledege that i was raised by my mom and only my mom from the age of 2+. so blah blah blah, yada yada.

anyway, you are going put your mom in debt, just so you can buy an S2000? srsly go **** off. thats not even REMOTELY A GOOD DESISION ON YOUR PART. greedy bastard.

go buy a car YOU can afford, not some slick roadster you want to show off to your little highschool ricer friends, while your mom picks up an extra weekly shift at work to buy you a car.

My mom owns two houses, one on rent. She owns a convenience store, a motel, and another buisness location that is empty. All but one house is paid off. Money is the least of the worrys.

Also when my brother was my age he bought an integra for 6500. Now that was back when i would say we weren't as supportive by money. And we pulled it off.

Thanks for all your advices thought guys. All the s2k's i see that are &lt;12k are at private dealerships. =/ We'll see. My car gets sold in a bit. and next week car shopping =/ fun.......

i would say cheers but ur only 17... so grab a six pack of soda and go wild...

As much as some of you may find him to be an *******, Graf-fiti is merely being realistic in this whole matter. Some high school kid going on 17 wants to buy an S2k because his mommy doesn't like the car he has now...that's absurd. I'm not claiming to be an old guy here, i'm only 21, but hell, i know what i can and cannot do financially. I'm fairly fiscally responsible and smart enough to make good decisions. I think that if you get this car, you'll end up being one of those dumbass high school kids who shows off, crashes the car (possibly hurting someone or yourself) and then spends the next 5 years working at Kmart to pay it off. If you have the kind of money to throw around, save it for an education and you'll benefit 10 fold later in life. I would have loved to dump all the money i made working construction into a car, but i'm spending the next 7 years (and the past 3) going to college so that i can have a bright future...

Think of the long term...investing that money in your future is the best decision you'll ever make. This is the time in your life where you have to decide whether you're going to be one of those guys who works a dead end job and has fun now, or someone who in 10 years has a house paid off and 2 new cars...it sucks to delay gratification, but that's the responsible, mature thing to do

Garf is not an *******. I just think he couldve given his opinion in a better understanding way. Without all the bad references.

And what better are you guys that keep telling em im going to crash? Because im 17 and in high school? Your assuming. Same thing insurnace companys do. Charge us extra for something we might do because of age and sex.

Believe it or not there are some 17 years olds that are smarter and wiser than some 40 year olds. Im not entirely saying im one of them, but judging someone by there age is like judging a book by its cover. If half of you knew me (which no one on this board does personally) you would know how much maturer i am than most 17 year olds. Im not saying im anywhere close to being as mature as some of you 21 years olds. You guys are more than likely more mature than some 40 year olds yourself.

None of my friends were into cars. So i started hanging out with my brother and all his. So all his friends including him are 20+ There mature enough. They don't do stupid illegal ****. We take it to the track. Im not gonna race, im not gonna try to drift. If i ever get into a car accident i promise it wont be my fault.

/end rant
