OK, after getting the oil pan off, I ground down the fins as required (quite a pain in the azz if you don't have the right tools ..........), and marked the location where I needed to put the fitting ............
So I am sitting there confused ....... which fitting goes on it?????????
I had already installed the fittings at the oil sensor unit (which I sheared the little bolt that secured the wire to the sending unit - need to go to Honda today to get another), so I had a pile of other fittings. So I know a bunch go to the aftercooler, so I open up to the page where it shows the routing, and match up the fittings needed to the picture .......... hmmmmmmmmmmmm, why is there one missing???? Double check EVERYTHING I unpacked (I had it all VERY neatly laid out, and took a specific time to make sure everything was unpacked), and check the box to make sure it didn't just fall out ....... nope!! One fitting not shipped for the water aftercooler ...... ........ have to call Vortech to get one, because even though it looks like a standard plumbing fitting, NONE of the Home Depots or Lowes areound here have one ...... they have one's that are close, but they won't work ........
So that's the first issue ........ on to the second bigger one ........
So I figure out which fittings go where, and know for sure what fitting is for the oil pan ...... great. The directions, and the tool list include a 3/8" NPT Tap ....... and they give you this nifty "Borcha" tool, or something or other to make a nice clean hole in it. Guess what ..... it is 9/16" (even says so), and the fitting is obviously a 5/8" fitting ......... Do the math here, maybe it is something I'm just not getting ....... but doesn't a 3/8" tap go completely through a 9/16" hole like a pencil through a doughnut hole?????? So I deduct through reasoning that the directions must be off, and it really needs a 5/8" tap. Guess what? Nowhere around me sells a 5/8" NPT tap .................. now what do I do???????
So I do just about everything else, the SC unit is installed, the aftercooler is installed (sans one fitting ........), the fuel pump is in - relatively easy considering everyone says that is the hardest part. I still need to do the wiring inside the car, and put on the air filter element and finish up the hoses/fittings in the engine bay. Probably another 5-6 hours of work .........
This has turned into a pain in the azz ........ I've had over 8 trips to Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, and auto parts stores. Should have been done after working for a total of about 21 hours of time (probably only an actual 16 hours of actually working on the car itself, the rest running around to get sh-t, and take breaks).
Had to explain to the owner that it wasn't done, but luckily he has his wife's car to get to work today, and we already talked this morning about what needs to be done. We work together in the office, so it is easy to communicate ......

Still have the aftercooler fitting issue, but found the 3/8" NPT tap ....... it is not really 3/8" obviously, that is just its nomenclature .........
