make sure you click it at lease 3 times

take it to an auto parts store and get them to read the code. seach CEL on this forum and see what the code relates to. Then, fix it. Easy like 1 2 3
Gas Cap code
Random Misfire code
Cat Converter code
Its more than likely one of those.
But YES go get it scanned so you know for-sure.

just to check, ur not making the assumption the 'maintainance req'd' light is the same as a CEL are u... main. req'd comes on periodically to indicate time for an oil change.

wrong because it has nothing to do with the oil.....it is a built in mileage meter for your "by the book" regularly scheduled maintenance, and does come on after X amount of miles after being reset
honda uses it as a tool to entice you to bring the car in for their regular scheduled maintenance intervals and supposedly when it was introduced was "supposed" to only be turned off by the dealership after the regular scheduled maintenance was performed, although now it has become apparent that honda figured out any joe shmoe could turn it off

true however i was agreeing with the fact that it comes on after X amount of miles which a new person can mistake for a CEL.
and yes it does not come on to say oil needs to eb changed but it can be used for that very purpose as a reminder to the owner.

i use it as a reminder to make sure everything is still perfect so my performance doesn't deteriorate into that of an ap1

well honda just stated it was for the oil in the owners manual. it even says, "if you change your own oil make sure to reset the light" in my 01 owners manual.
as i said, its mile intervals tho, so let it remind you of wahtever you want to be reminded of every x miles.
