Weird Tps problem
I'm been having this problem with my h22 for a couple weeks now, when it tried to rev down, it will become VERY jerky, in the lower gears I can feel it alot more, not so much 4th or 5th, but when it revs down or just let off the gas, it will become jerky and I can see the tach jumping down when it jerks, it's not revving down nice and smooth, also when I shift the rpms go up about 300 before falling down to idle. But today, I randomly got a tps code when I turned my car on, checked the voltage on it, and it was .5V at idle, which is normal, so I was like what the heck and just drove it, and it actually for once drove normal with the cel on. I could rev it down just fine, not jerky at all, and as soon as I take it out of gear the rpms went right down to 1100 idle when I was moving, but on the way home I drove it and the cel didn't come on, and the problems came back, really jerky when I let off the gas, and when I shift the rpms go up 300 then go down to 500, then bounce up to 1100 and idles till I stop then goes down to 750 like normal. So out of all this I'm hoping this might make a bit of sense to somone, cause I'm kinda lost it seams like the cel should make it worse but instead fixed the problem. Thanks for any help. Info: 93 h22a---stock p13--- no other cels other than the tps for 1 time.

Re: Weird Tps problem (JasonST)
I could write a book on wierd tps problems. Do you have a lightweight flywheel?
several things could be the cause of it. If you have cut into the ecu wires. Installed any aftermarket piggyback thing. The rpms will fall off hard and bounce back then settle down to normal idle if you are using a lightweight flywheel. The random cel you are getting sounds like a wiring issue. Make sure to check everything real good.

like ^^ said, make sure the wiring is all hooked up right, the reason its working when the cel comes on is because it stops reading from the tps and bases fuel adjustments solely on load and rpm
even though it reads .5v at idle doesnt mean that it smoothly reads through the rest of the % range, take your voltmeter to it and slowly open it from 0-100%, make sure the voltage goes very smoothly up and reaches somewhere btw 4.5 and 5.5 volts at wot

Re: (mgags7)
Thanks. Somone ACTUALLY replied to one of my posts, it seams like no one ever helps me with my problems. I'll chek and see if there is any dead spots when i'm testing the voltage and let u guys know tomorrow, thanks for the help. O and also, I'm using the stock flywheel, haven't done anything with that yet,
