Get tuned. Dont mess with your engagement point without tuning. Do it right or changing your vtec crossover will mean loss of power.

I would say don't mess with any vtec setting because it is bad.... it will make your lude lose power.... if that is wat you want then do it...

yep yep...

i changed my vtec crossover on my vafc I to l->H is 4700 and HI->lo is 4600..

works great and i run 14.5's at the strip with basic i/h/e and vafc I untuned.

Just for the record, when untuned, you are not to go beyond 300rpms +/- from stock which is 4900, ur tach may say otherwise but it really 4900. soo, just dont go over 5200 or under 4600 i know my typing sucks but i think you should get the point..lol..16hr shift gets tough.lol

I remember having a similar set-up to the OP's and setting my crossover to 5200 RPM. It yielded decent power up top. I also remember having it at 4600, 4700 and 4800 and it killed the top end. In the end, after a dyno session, I set it back to stock.

When you get on a dyno, you need to lower your engagement point to where your torque starts dropping off. Instead of having the dip that some have after minor bolt ons, you'll have a smooth curve where the crossover point is. It won't feel as strong because you won't feel the punch of the vtec, but you will be noticeably faster. When I change mine, I gained 11whp and 25wtq at 5000rpm, but it felt slower because I didn't have that vtec kick. You want that smooth engagement.

I agree 100%. I have seen some dynos where you cant even see where vtec kicks in on the graph its blended so well
