H22 A4 compression test...motor has not been running for few months before testing
I was in the market to buy this accord with H22 A4 swap. It has about 30k miles on the motor. The compression test results were 200 220 230 240 after we let it warm up properly. When we poured oil to check for rings, the owner of the car poured too much oil because it shot up pretty high to like 300 psi. The car seem to ride fine and idle pretty damn good. He did state that the car has been sitting a few months before he showed me the car. Do yal think the ring will seat properly after couple hundred miles due to it not running for a while?
When the car was running normally, I didn't notice any smoke in the tail pipe.

In the helms I think i read that you want the numbers to be within 30 points of each other, so i'm not too sure about 200-240. but if you put too much oil down that could be the abnormal one. I would say test again before jumping to conclusions.

i was told you wanted the numbers within 10 of adjacent cylinders. which all are except #1 (or #4 i dont know the order)

well, i think i got it the other way around. Because the car has been sitting for a few months, i think there is carbon build up and thus a higher compression reading. As I have searched, the USDM H22a is around 190-200, and I am higher than that, so I dont think its the piston rings, rather, just carbon build up. Perhaps the compression #'s will go down a bit after driving it for a while? Again, the car just purrs sitting at idle and does not flucuate AT ALL. There are no smokes either. And I dont here any obvious ticking from the valve cover, so i dont think it needs valve adjustment.
