It's cheaper. That's it. It also won't control the butterfly valves, which most people consider a bad thing until Skunk2 gets around to releasing their IM.

wit the p28 you will lose control of your secondary intake runner control which is causes a loss of low end torque cuz the butterfiles will always be open and also no knock sensor. Wit the p72, there is more contorl of high rpms mappins than the p28. So i dont know if you are any advantages to using the p28 and p72. Alot of peoples have it cuz its cheaper and more availables.

I plan on goin with the same setup as you p72 and hondata s200.

What mods you got? is ur engine tuned?

In addition to it not operating the intake manifold butterflies, the P28 does not support reading the knock sensor either! Just stick with the P72. The P72 is a much better option in every respect compared to the P28.

even though it doesnt have knock control, if properly tuned, wont the p28 still run fine without the knock control? or is it something youll still have to worry about..

Yeah it'd be fine. Preluderacer023 runs a p28 I believe.

I've run both....P72 does have a little more power down low, might not be worth the difference for the p28 if ur gonna eventually buy a single intake runner manifold in the future.

What kind of chip/program did you use for your p28?

so, running a p28 doesn't hurt the engine?

It will not "hurt" the engine, but with respect to the knock sensor, you are more-likely to do damage via detonation than you would with a p72; utilizing a stock knock sensor.

I have the p28, I got it from a fellow board member for next to nothing. The cost was my concern when I got the p28. I have the j&s, so if I need knock control, I will use that. I also have the btm, allowing me to reduce timing as little as ¼° per pound of boost.

If you can swing paying for a p72, do it.

sorry for going off track but on the HONDATA site it says:

accords and prelude have to rewire the EGR (a11) and o2 heating (a6) .

HAVE any of you rewired to O2 heating and the EGR like hondata states??? if so, how did you guys go about doing it?

edit: shooot firedrake corrected my mistake... it's not for preludes... it's just for accords....
