Default P28 or P72

I'm am extremely ignorant when it comes to ECU's and from what I have found searching for this answer nobody actually answers it.

I am going to be tuning my 97 JDM B18C type R with hondata. I am wondering is there a difference between the P28 and P72 once it is chipped with hondata?

Pretty sure the P72 will look for the knock sensor while the p28 wont. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also if you keep your stock IM the p72 will work your butterflies.

Edit: nvm, type Rs don't have butterflies

Did you mean P73 or are you running a GSR ecu?

You are correct. I am running my gsr on a hondata p28 and even if you hook up the knock sensor you will still have a cel because the p28 does not have a knock board to look for a knock sensor.

^ and I am using a p28 on a skunk2 manifold. I am not using the oe gsr manifold.

why would you have a cel light for a knock sensor when it dosn't look for one ? and if it's chipped you can remove sensor's so it wont look for them
