I got 98 lude and i'm about to put my bw kit on. I got two universal hayame mufflers because i liked the look. I don't know how they sound. Can anyone tell me how they sound or compare them with another brand. Also should I do the dual custom set up, or just run one muffer and use the other one as a dummy, so it wont be too loud thanks

 

you might be losing horsepower if you go dual exhaust.....maybe.....and if you go one functional, and one dummy it will look stupid not only will one be clean and the other black from the exhaust but in the winter.....one will have steam coming out when its cold and the other one will not...looks like crap....what you could do is just have the second exhaust cutout on theleft filled in or something...its up to you though

 

If you do the piping correctly for the dual exhaust you won't lose hp
If i'm not mistaken when the piping splits into two for the two mufflers make the pipes smaller so that you can still get that backpressure you need.

 

Do you think that running a dual exaust setup will be too loud. If it is i might just use one as a dummy and just fit it in place. I don't know any opinions will help

Don't know, but it might sound like ***. A few civics around here have dual exhaust setups, and they sound like really high-pitch buzzer thingys... ultra stupid

 

dual exhaust....always loud.....ive noticed....and you do loose power....unless you have a really powerful car and you need to get the bad stuff out.....

 

Dual exhaust is stupid, unless you have a V6 accord

 

so should i run the one muffler and have the other not work or what. I don't think i want to fill in the other hole in the bumper .. i think leaving the left side w/o a muffler won't look right

 

I totally agree, that would suck dude. Your car, but I'd fill in the other cutout and call it a day. Sorry man, but it smells a lot like 5th gen-flavored Rice-A-Roni to me. I'd rather actually be fast than just look like it, but hey that's just me. To each his own.

 

there are two problems i have with dual exhuast on a i4:

1. it costs more money for no added power and possibly a loss if not done correctly

2. it's gay
