Default JDM Conversion

Hey all I have an 96 Honda prelude with the H23A1 engine, I am trying to find a replacement and not having any luck I am looking at JDM but here is the question?

How hard is it to covert a JDM to fit the 96 Prelude, From what I have been told my car is OBD2 and the JDM is OBD1? Any Advice is appreciated.....

Thanks
Chris

if you want a direct replacement its a h23a or I believe f22b? dohc non vtec.
If you want an upgrade h22.

if you are just doing a repacment, you want to use your intake manifold and your dizzy and your oil pump with crank sensor. and your knock sensor.

Im not quite sure by what you mean when you say convert a JDM into your lude. If you get a full motor ie ecu, motor, tranny you wouldnt have to worry about OBD1 or OBD2.....Direct replacement for H23 is the F22B I currently have that in my car after the H-motor blew the hell up. Whats wrong with your motor?

I just bought this car with a broke timing belt for 600bux, i haven't had a chance to try and put a belt on it to see what kind of damage it did or didn't do. Going to try that first but was also looking at JDM swap if damage is bad. So are you saying that i could order a JDM that is complete with engine, tranny and ecu and that would be a direct bolt in? Does that come with the wiring harness also? Sorry i am new to the honda swapping area...

You probably have a lot of damage seeing that the h23 engine is an interferance motor which means the valves will hit the pistons and bend the valves. sometimes puts holes in the pistons. I would say get the H22A JDM swap, it bolts right in, if the swap you plan to buy comes with everything like the engine, tranny, ECU, exhaust and intake manifolds, downpipe, all you need to get is a longer fuel line because in japan the fuel filter is on the opposite side. I found a replacement brakeline with union fittings work well and is cheap.
you also need to add 2 or 3 wires through the firewall connecting the ECU to the engine wiring harness. just lookup "ecu pins" on honda-tech and it tells you which wires and pins need to be connected. Make sure you get the OBD II
swap....
