h22a1 piston rings
I have an h22a1 and my car is smoking a little and i am boosted. I know i have to buy new rings , so is that all i would need or do i have to rehone my sleeved block?

Smoking can be caused by different things. What color is the smoke? Blue,black or white?
When does it smoke, all the time from idle to high r's or just off idle or does it have to idle a while then once off idle it smokes. Best to figure that out before you spend alot of money. You can also do a leak down test and a compression test to get a look what is happening inside your engine.

I would suggest doing a leakdown test to see if it truly is a compression ring problem. What do you think happened to cause cylinder #3 to have its rings screwed up?

maybe to much boost ? but i don't know man it could be something simple but we did one and they told me it will be 2000 to hone it out and im like whoa wait i know it's a lot but not that dam much man. tell me would i have to get the block honed or just the cylender walls.
