I got a check engine light the other day. I checked it this morning with a POS scanner got a code 71. Anway i went up to autozone to make sure it was right they scanner it and got 3 code 300,301 and 302 i believe. Which is misfire in cylinder number 1,misfire in cylinder number 2 and random misfire.
What makes not sense to me is i checked all the boots on the ignition wires are tight, plugs are nice and tight and still pretty new looking, cap and rotor are less than 4 months old less than 3k on them. The wires themselves are probably a year old NGK blues, plugs less than 4 months less than 3k on them. Everthing is in nice and tight.
The only difference ive been feeling is the car sometimes studders at idle and in low rpms in higher gears. I believe the term is high load.
Ive been using Sunoco 93 only. The car has been sitting more lately only driven like 6 times in the last month and is stored outside and i dont start it everyday as i should be i figured its not like its sitting for months.
Also the fuel pump and fuel filter are newer with less than 6k on them.

i believe thats a 61 for the o2 sensor.
I did both jumping the service connector and also had the code read after to make sure i did it right.

Try this out it's not really fully done.. It's a Decoder for ECU's, ATTS,ABS, and SRS

Random misfires can be caused by ALOT of different things, here's my example:
Right after I rebuilt my engine it was misfiring to the point where it would jerk the car vigorously. Turned out the shop that put the engine together did not do a valve adjustment.
After the valve adjustment it still threw the codes although it didn't jerk the car violently anymore. The codes went away totally after I got rid of my rage header with a small exhaust leak right before the bend between the primary and secondary o2 sensors.
Then a few months later I had to do a head swap, as well as put on another FIT valve - codes all of a sudden came back. I noticed that the idle was a bit high, so I lowered it and haven't had a single code in about a week (knocks on wood).
Usually its an ignition thing, but it can have alot to do with A/F, exhaust leaks, etc. Was there anything you changed on the car shortly before you started getting the codes?

well i checked all my ignition stuff everything looked ok. Besides the plugs, which were only a few months old, they were black and red in some spots. I changed the plugs. Also i just threw on a new o2 sensor just because the old one is just that ...old.

no because i have no idea how long it takes for this code to cycle. If i reset the ecu and the problem still exists and the CEL goes away it may just return.
I say reset it warm it up maybe pick up some milk and eggs.. but, then again it may take 250~300 miles to cycle..
I don't know i'm afraid you have to reset it to see if any problems occur.. I mean we can say this could be this and that could be that and by the time it cycles thru we wouldnt know what really happen..
nah meen
