No.

But everybody that goes out for planned rides in the mountains or on twisty roads that plans on doing agressive riding/stunting/racing etc...whatever the case may be....IS. My evidence? The whole in that guys knee. Had he been wearing leather pants and boots he would have easily walked away with just a sore ***.

If your just going down the street in some jeans, a jacket, helmet, gloves, and boots....or riding around town, yeah, thats cool...but as stated, don't go out for a planned ride where you know your going to be pushing your bike with jeans and tennis shoes on. Thats ******* retarded.

Im in squid-land! Im in Minnesota for a wedding and there isn't a helmet law in this state, only glasses. Out of the 200+ bikes I've seen maybe 5-10 have been in helmets and half of those have been in jackets.

The best one I saw was an older guy on a harley without a helmet and he had his kid on the back (no more than 10) and he was wearing a bicycle helmet that was clearly wayy too big. It made me cringe, then laugh at the theory behind it all.

Thats because most of the riders up here are Harley riders, and they are the worst when it comes to helmets. Somehow, it would compromise "the look." Its one of the more ironic things in society. Harleys have this tough and manly image, and yet their riders seem to place looks above safety while they ride their rolling pieces of shiny jewelry. Whats more girly than that? I shouldn't say this because I have some good friends that are Harley riders, but to me the Harley movement is the definition of an oxymoron. Made out to be tough and manly, but actually really girly and all about the bling

No, you live here in WI so you probably are. About 95% of the people I see out there are wearing shorts t-shirt and sunglasses.

So in a state that has a 4-5 month riding season you are going to say most people are squids? compared to what state? I seriously bet the southern states have way more people not wearing gear.

QFT.. i have been watching bikes go by for about the past two months and have seen possibly 2 out of a couple of hundred wearing anything more than a helmet. Most of them are wearing shorts and tennis shoes with cut up t-shirts.

This thread is hilarious. Just took this on the way to work this morning. Not funny or anything, but.....

I'm sure I'll have better ones by next week, as I work right by a military base and they love cruising around in just sunglasses and fatigues.

I was trying to figure out where in the hell there was a track that would let people on the drag strip in t shirts... then I read the Venezuela tag on the pics. Thats wild, glad everyone made it out of that night ok.

Also, Im willing to wager that there are more "squids" in the colder states. Up here in northern states we dont get nearly the riding season that they get in the south. With a longer rider season you get many many more chances to go down which may cause people to gear up after sliding on the pavement, if they dont sell their bikes altogether. Also, I have heard more than a few people, the ones that even acknowledge gear might be useful, around here say that they dont want to spend all the money on gear since they only ride a few months anyway... not to mention this is a no-helmet state. That means liter bikes and tank tops for everyone!!!!1onewun1!
