Also, Im willing to wager that there are more "squids" in the colder states. Up here in northern states we dont get nearly the riding season that they get in the south. With a longer rider season you get many many more chances to go down which may cause people to gear up after sliding on the pavement, if they dont sell their bikes altogether. Also, I have heard more than a few people, the ones that even acknowledge gear might be useful, around here say that they dont want to spend all the money on gear since they only ride a few months anyway... not to mention this is a no-helmet state. That means liter bikes and tank tops for everyone!!!!1onewun1! </TD></TR></TABLE>

You can wager, but this is an argument that is not going to be proved. it is all heresay and that doesn't really mean anything. All i can say is that i always wear a helmet when i ride, if it's cold i wear my riding jacket and gloves. if it's not i don't. my choice, not yours.

Doesn't look like a huge turnout though. It's not as exciting when the likelihood of cross-traffic is less...?

I was watching that on tv and happened to catch it. He gave this lame excuse that he has been riding pull backs for years and he is used to getting on the throttle hard. Way to be a smart rider, someone even warned him to be careful because the bike has lots of power.
